Multidirectional system

When using a multidirectional system, ensure that the plate and screws are the same size, usually by means of color coding.

Contour and adjust an implant of suitable design and size for the anatomy.

Attach the multidirectional drill guide ( ▶ Fig. 10.20, ▶ Fig. 10.20b).

Drill through the guide in the planned direction in the near cortex and, if necessary, in the far cortex also ( ▶ Fig. 10.20c).

Determine the screw length with a gage ( ▶ Fig. 10.20d).

Insert the screw in the plate and tighten it cautiously ( ▶ Fig. 10.20e).
